The mobile messenger apps roundup is beginning to shape up like a football arena. We have side runners and front runners with some extra moves that invariably Kick and Tweet and Snap their way to victory. Kik Messenger was created by a group of university students in Canada. The company Kik Interactive was founded in 2009 and by October 2010, the company released it's first app named Kik Messenger. It's amazing, sometimes we hear the whispers in the shadows pondering, "Wonder what and when will be the next great release of something new or something needed about something that existed." Before we know it, as if some unforeseen force is getting a 'Kick' out of the twisted irony, as sure as the next moment, if not the next big thing, a huge enough thing, big enough to make a ripple in time and space of existing innovations raises it's head above the spectrum. The company gained popularity within the first 15 days of it's release, siting one million user registrants. The company envisioned creating new technologies for use on mobile platforms. Though this may seem rather cliché as an approach, the figures and the prospected rate of progress showed that there was definitely a light at the end of this tunnel, irrespective of the many breakthroughs before this endeavor. As a matter of fact the success of Kik Messenger was attributed to Twitter for the sudden rise in it's popularity.
A whopping 40% of the teens in United States have adopted Kik Messenger service as their preferred messenger app. Although in one light this may be deemed as excellent target marketing strategy, in another light this is considered to be rather disturbing. It has been criticized as for providing inadequate parental control and this is the reason why most critics suggest that teens have gravitated towards the service. The company has stood in it's own defense stating that it uses industry standards for age verification. The app is available on Apple IOS, Android and Windows phone and considers itself to be a top contender in the run for virtual messaging services with a unique market which seemingly caters for the teen and young adults across a broad spectrum. Be that as it may, Kik Messenger is a contender among the messaging giants of the global arena. It has proven it's untimely existence in an age where ideas are few but still very much prevalent. This from a vision from the students of the University of Waterloo in Canada some 10 years ago. Today they stand among the giants embracing the vision well into their future as they embrace their kick out of life's wonderful adventures in the messaging world.
